.04 Subsea and High Efficiency planetary gears
While the WedgeRock Planetary Gear may look unconventional, you are not likely to find a more efficient, self-locking gear operator on the market. The sliding action of conventional worm gear valve operators typically lose more than 65% of the input torque to friction resulting in heat and wear; inherent in the self-locking function, conventional worm gear operators are less than 35% efficient.
In contrast, WedgeRock Planetary Gears provide a rolling action with numerous teeth always in contact and self-centering gear carriages that evenly distribute contact stress resulting in higher efficiencies and an extended, more predictable cycle life – typically providing efficiencies greater than 90%.
Manual or motorized applications, WedgeRock has a planetary gear design for every application. From quarter turn to multi-turn, rising stem thrust applications, subsea or topside, WedgeRock can provide a robust, compact and efficient planetary operator for your application.
